My review

The Darkest Night allows an entrance to the world full of creatures of the dark, immense powers and forbidden passions.

It's the first book in the (hopefully) long Lords of the Underworld series. Starting the story with Maddox, a powerful and skillful warrior, who has a demon of Violence in him. And a curse to die every midnight receiving six sword stabs straight to his gut.

It sounds gloomy, I know, and after reading more, it only gets worse, but nevertheless enchanting.

Besides, what is a true love story without a tormented hero, weary of life and a brave heroine to tame the beast within and in the same time raise havoc in his inner world he never knew before?

It sounds silly for Violence to crave peace and gentle touch, to be driven by such fierce protective instincts even his demon is not left untouched by it, but that is the magic of love. The magic only the right person can make you feel. And Ashlyn does overwhelm him.

She is a complex person, sometimes too naive for my tastes, too innocent, too much of a victim of the circumstances of her own life, but I have to admit she is not hopeless. She tries and she fights and she saves more than anyone could’ve ever imagined.

The Darkest Night is truly worth your time. Every moment of it.

I can promise you will shed at least a tear or two before the last page is closed. Possibly even more.

It captured me so completely, I immediately bought the second book and never regretted it. I know you won’t either. There’s just no way not to love these dark warriors and their sensual, devilishly passionate tales. The Darkest Night is a must read, trust me!
