Though she has lived for centuries, Anya, goddess of anarchy, has never known pleasure. Until Lucien, the incarnation of death - a warrior eternally doomed to take souls to the hereafter. He draws her like no other. And Anya will risk anything to have him.
But when the merciless Lord of the Underworld is ordered by the gods to claim Anya herself, their uncontrollable attraction becomes an anguished pursuit. Now they must defeat the unconquerable forces that control them, before their thirst for one another demands a sacrifice of love beyond imagining..
The Darkest Kiss
got me hooked up from the first word. Actually, even earlier, when I read
The Darkest Night
and Anya made her entrance. Back then I knew she would have a book of her own. And I was right.
Here is the second book in the series of Lords of the Underworld and Anya, the goddess of Anarchy, to rock the lucky Lords world. Not to mention mine. And not a moment too soon.
Lucien really needed some serious rocking. All mauled, insecure and tortured he definitely needed someone to bring light into his existence. Be able to stand up to him when needed. And kick his ass when he deserved it.
I enjoyed their duels – with words and swords – so much I reread this book couple of times.
In a way I could say it’s a classical beauty and a beast tale (my favorite) where you truly have to look inside to see the man under the scars and in this case even sharing his body with a demon of Death. Except I don’t remember the beast ever trying to kill Belle, or the beauty throwing knifes faster than he could flash. But that just makes the story more interesting. Besides, what more could you possibly want?
Dark and dangerous hero. A heroine with a flavor of her own, to stand out amongst hundreds of others. Dangerous and unexpected twists. And passion to hold your breath till you devoured every single page.
If you haven’t read The Darkest Kiss already, don’t wait any longer. It’s a keeper.
